Sue McGavin

Membership Officer

Hi, my name is Sue, and I am one half of the job share with Steve Smith that makes up the Telford & Wrekin Green Party Membership Officer role.

My background is in Housing and Community Development, and I have been running my own Community Interest Company since 2011, specialising in genuine engagement and the empowerment of people to make a difference in what matters most to them, both in improving their lives and the lives of their community. In the past, I have worked for the Borough Council here, so I am familiar with most of the area.

I am a relatively new member of the Green Party in Telford & Wrekin, and I joined because this party truly represents my concerns and interest in the future of people and the planet. The Green Party addresses critical issues ranging from Housing, the Environment, Health and Social Care, and Palestine, to the NHS, Immigration, Education, and Climate Change, which affect us all. I want to see fair policies put into action in a fair way, with decisions made and discussed in an open and honest manner.

I live in a rural area of Telford & Wrekin with my husband. We have two adult sons, two rescued dogs, and two rescued cats. I am also an active member of our local parish Climate and Nature Group. Along with my job-share colleague, I aim to engage and involve more people from all ages and backgrounds in the Green Party, so we can all work together for the good of everyone and the planet.
