Duddleston Fracking comments in Shropshire Star

27 October 2014

Shropshire StarTelford and Wrekin Greens add their voice to the fight against fracking at Duddleston.

Telford and Wrekin Green Party spokeswoman Cath Edwards said it showed the government could not bribe local authorities into unpopular decisions.

She said: “Instead of losing time and money searching for the last dregs of fossil fuels and continuing to pump out greenhouse gasses, we should be investing in renewable energy.

“With five power stations offline we need the power now, not in a few year's time.

"If the gas is there, it will not last long, it will cause more greenhouse emissions and then we will need to switch to renewables anyway," she said.
