Candidate Profile: John Adams

My name is John Adams, and I am representing the Green Party in the election for Borough Councillor in The Nedge Ward of Telford and Wrekin on Thursday, 14th November 2024.

I raised my family in North Shropshire after moving here in 1987 to study agriculture. Later, I worked at Harper Adams University for over 20 years until 2018. Ten years ago, I joined the Green Party, and in the 2019 general election, I stood as the Green Party parliamentary candidate in North Shropshire.

I now live in Stirchley and represented the Green Party in Telford in the 2024 general election. I believe it is essential to have Green Party representation on the Telford and Wrekin Council and to continue the rapid increase in the number of Green Councillors around the country. I would always work to ensure that decisions are genuinely made in the interests of our constituents above any other interests. Trust in politics at all levels, from local to national, is at rock bottom, and a Green presence can only improve the situation. After all, the Green Party exists to enable all members of society to achieve their potential in life. I believe our values and beliefs around economic and social justice, as well as environmental protection, are naturally closer to ordinary people than those of any other party. I look forward to representing you all if elected.
